ASHLAND, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its third ODAC women's lacrosse victory of the spring with a 15-14 win at Randolph-Macon Wednesday evening.

Shenandoah (4-6, 3-2 ODAC) led by four goals on three occasions but had to hold on a Macon (2-6, 1-3) staged a furious rally.

Kathleen Donovan scored what proved to be the game-winning goal off of an
Emily Onorato assist with 7:54 remaining.

R-MC answered with goals at 6:36, 5:28, and 4:14 to trail cut the deficit to just one.

Macon won the ensuing draw but
Reilly Cisar came up with possibly tbe biggest play of the game by immediately causing a turnover and picking up the resulting groundball.

After the Yellow Jackets regained possession thanks to a save on a Cisar free position attempt, the SU defense stepped up again as
Madison Ulm caused a turnover and picked up the resulting groundball.

SU held possession for the remainder of the game, hitting the crossbar with 1:43 left and then running out the clock after scooping up the loose ball.

Alyson Bittinger, who was subjected to shutoff defense in the waning moments of the game, led the victors with five goals. Cisar had four goals and one assist for five points,
Emma Stiffler four points on two goals and two assists, and Donovan three goals and one assist for four points.

Ashley MacFarlane had 10 saves.

The 'Jackets outshot SU 32-29 and had a 20-14 edge in groundballs. The Hornets won 16 of 31 draws.
