WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its second ODAC softball split of the season Sunday by taking one of two from Ferrum College.

Shenandoah (5-17, 2-12 ODAC) rebounded from a 2-0 loss in the opener to win game two over the Panthers (14-18, 5-9) by a 7-2 score.
GAME ONE
The two teams split eight hits, but Shenandoah left seven on to the Panthers four in a 2-0 Ferrum victory.

Megan Scalley (1-9) scattered the four hits in 5.0 innings of work and posted three strikeouts against two walks.

The Panthers scored single runs in the third and fifth innings to secure the victory.

Sammy Amateau had two of the Hornets four hits with
BayLee Jenkins and
Nikki Stone adding one each.
GAME TWO
Shenandoah scored one run in each of the first three innings along with two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to earn the 7-2 victory.

The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Hornets.

Kayla Stephenson (4-6) went the distance in the win, allowing the two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two.

Sammy Amateau,
BayLee Jenkins,
Morgan Henley,
Tiffany Bower, and
Nikki Stone all had two hits with Henley driving in three runs.

Henley plated Schey with the squad's first run of the game, a sacrifice fly to center in the first, had an RBI double in the fifth and a bases loaded single in the sixth.

Stone had the game-winning RBI by driving in Amateau with a single to left in the third. Amateau had reached on leadoff single to center.
UP NEXT
Shenandoah plays its final two non-conference games of the season on Wednesday with a 3 p.m. doubleheader at Mary Washington.
