STAUNTON, Va. - Shenandoah University won its first women's tennis match of the 2021 season Friday with a 9-0 non-league shutout at Mary Baldwin.
The Hornets (1-3) swept the doubles over MBU (0-8) and then breezed through the six singles matches to post the shutout victory.

Madison Hansen followed with an 8-2 win at No. 1 before

Madison Hoilman brought SU to within two points of victory with an 8-5 triumph at No. 3.
Bennett and Kimble delivered those two points, with Bennett winning at love at No. 5 and Kimble 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.
Hudak matched Bennett's win at No. 4.
With the team result determined, Combs, at No. 1, and Hansen, at No. 2, both played an 8-game pro set. Each woman won at love.
Hoilman, playing No. 6, had the closest match. She rebounded from a 6-2 loss in the opening set to win the second, 6-3, and then the 10-point tiebreak, 10-8.
