LYNCHBURG, Va. – Host University of Lynchburg forced a decisive game three with an 11-5 ODAC Baseball Tournament victory over No. 17 Shenandoah.

Lynchburg (33-13) scored one run in the first along with four in the third and two in the fourth to take a commanding lead over Shenandoah (31-10).

SU attempted to claw back into it with one run in the fourth and three in the fifth only to see Lynchburg scored a combined four runs in the seventh through ninth innings.

Keegan Woolford plated Shenandoah's first run with a solo home run in the fourth – the dinger was his 14
th of the season – before he was involved in SU scoring two of its three runs in the fifth.

With the bases loaded, Woolford had a check swing groundball to third that cut down the run at the plate, but Lynchburg threw away the relay throw to first and allowed both
Colby Martin and
Jackson Foreman were able to come around to score.

In the seventh, Woolford had a sacrifice fly to center to plate Shenandoah's final run.

Martin, Woolford, and
Frankie Ritter all had two hits with Woolford driving in a pair.

Reilly Owen (7-1) took the loss. He allowed five runs (three earned) on three hits and one walk in 2.0 innings.

Brandon Pond was the winner for Lynchburg. Pond (8-4) gave up five runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks in 6 1/3. He also struck out five.
