DANVILLE, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its first ODAC men's soccer victory of the season Saturday with a 4-2 victory at Averett.
Playing the Cougars for the first time in 11 years, Shenandoah (4-5-6, 1-4-4 ODAC) scored three straight goals in the second half to pull away from AU (4-9-3, 2-5-2).

Nathan Yared gave the Hornets the initial lead of the game on an unassisted goal at 24:10.
This lead lasted until 46:47, when Averett brought the game back to level by converting a penalty kick.
Just 94 seconds later,
Jasson Acosta scored unassisted to put Shenandoah on top to stay.
Connor Robles put the game out of reach by scoring unassisted at both 81:10 and 88:53.
The Cougars closed the book on the day's scoring with a goal 10 seconds before the final horn.
Averett outshot SU, 18-10, with each team putting six shots on frame. The Cougars also had a 6-2 advantage on corner kicks.
