FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Shenandoah University volleyball team concluded its 2022 season Saturday with a pair of non-league losses at Mary Washington.
Shenandoah (8-17) fell 3-0 to Mary Washington (21-7) and Marymount (17-13) in the tri-match.

The Eagles won at 8, 7 and 14 to open the day's play.
Mary Washington led wire-to-wire in the opening two sets before the two teams had two ties and traded the lead twice in the third.
An 8-0 UMW run in the third turned a 7-6 Shenandoah advantage into 14-7 Mary Washington lead and the Eagles never trailed again.
Jillian Warter had five kills for the Hornets with
Brooke Gast adding three and
Regan Minney two.
Becky Nguyen had eight digs and seven assists.
MARYMOUNT RECAP
SU was much more competitive versus the Saints, falling 25-16, 26-24, and 25-19.
There were 12 ties and eight lead changes in the match with eight of the ties and four lead changes coming in the third set.
Kate Poppo had 11 kills to lead the Hornets with Warter adding seven and
Aaliyah Chunn six.
Poppo had a double-double with 13 digs with
Natalie Reader chipping in 12.
Kylie Danella had a team-high 11 assists.

This completes the Hornets season. The 2023 schedule will be announced in the spring.
