WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University begins its quest Tuesday for a first-ever ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament title with a 3:30 quarterfinal round matchup at Bridgewater College.

No. 8 Shenandoah (11-6-2) travels to top-seeded Bridgewater (13-4) for the second time in week for the tournament contest. BC downed SU, 7-1, last Wednesday in the penultimate regular season game of year for both teams.

HISTORY
Tuesday's matchup will be the 22nd since 2004 between the two programs and the third in ODAC Tournament play. SU is 5-11-5 versus the Eagles since 2004 with a tie, an overtime game, and two other two-goal games in the past five matchups.

Shenandoah and Bridgewater previously met in the 2014 and 2020 tournaments with both games played at Bridgewater. SU reversed a regular season result in 2014, winning 4-0 in the quarterfinal round after losing, 2-0, in the regular season. In 2020 (played in the spring of 2021), Bridgewater won 2-0 in both the regular season and conference tournament.

BY THE NUMBERS
Bridgewater comes into the game as the league's scoring leader at 4.29 goals per game with Shenandoah third at 3.53.  The Eagles are third in the league in defense, allowing just .53 goals per game, with SU allowing a seventh-best 1.58 goals per contest.

Lyric Birkley leads BC in scoring with 10 goals and four assists for 24 points with Ashley Sabatino adding seven goals and five assists for 19 points.
