LYNCHBURG, Va. – Host University of Lynchburg ended Shenandoah University's 2022 ODAC Field Hockey Tournament run Thursday afternoon with a 3-1 semi-final round victory.
Second-seeded and No. 19 in the nation Lynchburg (17-3) scored the two second half goals to avenge a regular season loss to No. 18 Shenandoah (17-3).

SU, the tournament's third-seed, knotted the game at 1-1 on a
Mackenzie Watkins goal at 18:41.
Mairead Mckibbin set up with the goal with a pass between the Lynchburg goalkeeper's legs where Watkins banged it in from the left post.
Lynchburg, which earned the second-seed based on the goal differential tiebreaker with Shenandoah, scored 18 seconds into the third and with 8:27 to play to secure the victory.
SU had one shot, by Mckibbin, following the Lynchburg insurance tally.
The hosts outshot Shenandoah, 19-12, including 12-3 in the second half.
The two teams split 10 penalty corners.

Taylor Swann made four of her eight saves in the fourth quarter to keep Shenandoah within striking distance.

- Shenandoah's 17 wins is currently tied with the 2019 squad for most wins in a season.
- Thursday's game is the seventh ODAC Tournament meeting between the two programs.
- SU has met Lynchburg in the past five editions of the ODAC Tourney.
