WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Bridgewater College outlasted Shenandoah University in a 3-0 ODAC volleyball victory Wednesday evening.
Bridgewater (10-6, 4-0 ODAC) won at 21, 20, and 21 over the Hornets (6-7, 2-2).
IN BRIEF
The match was extremely close, with the two teams being tied a total of 19 times and trading the lead back-and-forth on an additional six occasions.
In the second, the two teams exchanged the lead four times and were tied 10 times.
The Eagles hit .263 (35-10—95) to .133 (31-17—105) for the Hornets and had a 71 percent sideout percentage in the third to help themselves clinch the match.
Jillian Warter paced the hosts with nine kills with
Aaliyah Chunn adding eight.
Becka Nguyen and
Brooke Wagner had a combined 25 of Shenandoah's 29 assists with Wagner recording 15 and Nguyen 10.
Defensively,
Kate Poppo had a match-high 20 digs with
Emma Thompson adding 14.
