WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's soccer team earned its second win of the week Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 non-league victory over Southern Virginia.

Shenandoah (2-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Southern Virginia (1-1) found the back of the net in the 79
th minute.

After the remainder of the first half was scoreless,
Chandler Gallant put the game away for the hosts midway through the second.

At 67:44, she headed home a perfect serve into the box by
Kristina Skulte to make it 2-0. Just less than 10 minutes later, she found herself in front of the SVU defense and slipped her shot past Knights keeper Alyssa Trueman and inside the right post.

Southern Virginia got its lone goal 63 seconds later. The Knights had two shots on goal in the waning moments, but Hornets keeper
Karissa Dominick made a pair of saves. Her first of those two stops came on a breakaway.

Shenandoah outshot SVU 12-3 and took five of the game's seven corner kicks.
