Men's Soccer and Stevenson Draw

Game Ends in 0-0 Tie

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Shenandoah University men's soccer team traveled to Stevenson University Wednesday night for a non-conference game that ended in a draw.

The Hornets (2-1-1) and Mustangs (1-1-3) each had chances in the final five minutes of the contest, as both defenses held the opposition scoreless in the 0-0 tie.

IN BRIEF

The two teams took plenty of shots off in the first 45 minutes with the Hornets leading the way with nine.

The second half was much of the same as each team tried to break the ice.

With under five minutes to play Stevenson drew a foul to set up a free kick in prime position. As the Mustangs got the kick off, and a wall of Hornets in front of them, goalie Travis Jett stopped the shot to keep the score even.

Minutes later the Hornets worked the ball to their offensive side of the field and got opportunities of their own.

With 20 seconds to play, Shenandoah got a throw-in and tossed the ball right into a scoring chance. As the ball landed in the box, the Hornets got one last shot off that just missed the mark with the time expiring.

Connor Robles led Shenandoah with three shots on goal. Logan Whited and Maynor Menendez played the full game for Shenandoah.
