Men's Soccer Defeated by Bridgewater, 3-1

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team was defeated 3-1 at home on Wednesday night in an ODAC game versus Bridgewater College.

The Eagles (9-2-2, 4-0-2 ODAC) scored the game's first three goals, despite being outshot in the first half, before the Hornets (4-6-4, 1-2-2) ended the shutout bid in the 65th minute.

IN BRIEF

Bridgewater scored its first goal of the contest in the third minute on the first shot of the game, before adding its second in the 27th minute. The Hornets had seven corners in the half and four shots on goal, including two chances that were cleared near the goal line.

In the 60th minute, the Eagles added to their lead with a through-ball pass, leading to a one-on-one chance with the goalie.

Five minutes later, Noah Finley scored his first career goal off a header from a Grant Otto throw-in, which deflected off Dylan Johnson's head on the way to Finley. Ten minutes later, the Eagles' back line came up with a huge team save off a Hatim Elkhasouani shot, keeping the multi-goal lead.

Elkhasouani, Johnson, Jarbin Rodriguez, and James Blalock each had multiple shots in the game, with the Hornets outshooting the Eagles, 15-9.
