FOREST, Va. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team swept this week's ODAC Player of the Week honors, in selections announced by the conference on Monday.

Senior Claudia Lenahan earned Offensive Player of the Week, while goalie Cassidy Alexander was named Defensive Player of the Week. The Hornets went 2-0 this week with wins over conference opponents Washington and Lee and Roanoke.

Lenahan scored two goals and added two assists in the pair of wins. On Wednesday at home versus the Generals, the senior provided the assist on SU's first goal of the game and then scored a goal of her own, putting SU up 2-1 five minutes later. With under two minutes to play, Lenahan helped put the Hornets up 3-2, assisting on Madison Short's game-winning tally. On Saturday, in a 4-2 victory at the Maroons, Lenahan scored the team's final goal of the contest in the fourth quarter.

Alexander, a first-year, made 11 saves in the win over the Generals, which is the second most this season for the Hornets. In the second half, with the game tied at two, Alexander made five saves, helping the Hornets win. Alexander added four more saves in the win over Roanoke.

The Hornets have three games left in the regular season, beginning with a road contest at Eastern Mennonite University on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
