Women's Volleyball's Season Concludes in ODAC Quarterfinals

Hornets End Season with Winning Record for First Time Since 2015

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's volleyball team concluded its 2025 season on Tuesday night, falling at Washington and Lee 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament.

The Hornets (13-11) entered the tournament as the fifth seed, their highest ranking since 2015. The Generals (21-9) held SU to 15 or fewer points in each set, en route to the sweep.

IN BRIEF

Kills by Hannah Hylton and Alana Washington put Shenandoah up 2-1 in the opening set, before the Generals took a 4-3 lead. The home team's lead grew to 10-7, with the Hornets coming within one thanks to a service ace by Hylton. However, the Generals closed the set out with a 15-5 run.

Washington and Lee jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the second, before gaining a 13-point advantage. Two Hornet kills and an ace by Amanda Ingrassia brought the Hornets' deficit back to 10, 19-9. The deficit was too much to overcome, with W&L winning the second, 25-14.

In the third, an 11-1 run carried the Generals to a 22-6 lead, as they closed in on the sweep. A Hylton kill, followed by consecutive kills by Washington, gave SU a 3-0 run, making it 24-10. Despite the 3-0 run, the Generals ended the set forcing an SU error, winning the third 25-10.

Washington led the Hornets with eight kills, while Hylton and Amber Shifflett collected seven each. Ingrassia provided a team-high 14 assists. Stroop carried the Hornets' defense with 22 digs.

The Hornets end their season with a winning record for the first time since 2015.
