2026 Hall of Fame Spotlight: Lauren Carpinello

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University Department of Intercolligiate Athletics is inducting five individuals into its Hall of Fame Class of 2026, with today's spotlight focusing on dual sport athlete Lauren Carpinello.

Carpinello played as a defender for the Hornets' women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams from 2003-07. The hall of fame inductee was a part of the 2005 women's lacrosse team that won the USA South Championship, defeating Methodist 17-13 in the championship game.

During her time on the women's soccer team, Carpinello was Second Team All-USA South honors as a rookie, followed by three straight First Team selections. She was also a two-time VaSID All-State honoree and twice named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III.

On the lacrosse field, the New Jersey native holds program records for ground balls (282) and caused turnovers (121). The four-year starter helped the Hornets capture the 2005 USA South Championship and earned three First Team All-USA South nods plus VaSID All-State honors.

Carpinello also holds three of the top four spots for ground balls in a single season in the program's record book and had 48 caused turnovers in 2007, which is the most for SU in a season.

Carpinello and the rest of the inductees will be enshrined in the hall of fame on Janurary 25, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferrari Room at the Brandt Student Center.
