MANHEIM, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has recognized Shenandoah University wrestlers Hunter Ballantine and Dylan Weaver as 2025 NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans. This prestigious honor is awarded to student-athletes who excel both on the mat and in the classroom, meeting rigorous academic and athletic criteria.
To qualify for this recognition, wrestlers must achieve one of the following athletic benchmarks: place in the top eight at their respective regional tournament or maintain a win percentage above 66% with at least 15 matches wrestled. Academically, recipients must either hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher or maintain at least a 3.2 GPA over the last two semesters.
Weaver, who recently concluded his standout collegiate career, made a deep run in the NCAA South Regional, securing a seventh-place finish at 174 pounds. He compiled an impressive season record while also excelling in the classroom. Ballantine, competing at 149 pounds, showcased his dominance throughout the year and maintained high academic standards, earning his place among the nation's top scholar-athletes.
"The NWCA is proud to honor these outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence on the mat and in the classroom as well," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer.
Ballantine and Weaver's recognition marks another milestone for the Shenandoah wrestling program as it continues to build a legacy of success both athletically and academically.
