WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's soccer team earned its first win of the 2025 season with a 5-0 home victory over Mary Baldwin University on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play.
Olvin Martinez powered the Hornets (1-2) with two goals in the shutout against the Fighting Squirrels (1-2).

SU came out strong, recording six shots in the opening 12 minutes. The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Martinez unleashed a strike from long range, curling it into the top corner to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead.
Shenandoah continued to press for the remainder of the half, forcing six more saves from Mary Baldwin to keep the score at 1-0 entering the break.
The Hornets' attack broke through in the second half.
Zach Robinson doubled the lead off a corner kick, with assists from
Alvin Garcia and
Jarbin Rodriguez. Just minutes later, Martinez struck again, finishing his second goal of the match to make it 3-0.
The Hornets dominated statistically, outshooting Mary Baldwin 37-3 and holding a 17-1 edge in corner kicks.
