WINCHESTER, VA - The Shenandoah University Men's Tennis team capped off their fall competition with a pair of 7-0 wins over Randolph-Macon and Southern Virginia on Saturday at home.
The Hornets (2-0, 1-0 ODAC) only lost seven total games to the Yellow-Jackets (0-2, 0-2 ODAC) before coming back to the courts and only dropping a doubles match to the Knights (1-3).
Game 1: Shenandoah 7, Randolph-Macon 0
The Hornets opened match one with three 6-0 victories in doubles competition.
Lucas Beasley and
Benjamin Brasfield took down Palmer/Holzmacher,
Shine Tokas and
Gray Broermann downed Zano/Chapman, and
Marcel Mizerski and
Tommy Cowell defeated Spencer/Privett.
In singles play,
Tommy Cowell got the scoring started with a 39-minute 6-0 6-0 rout of Caleb Privett. In a match that lasted just 4 minutes longer,
Lucas Beasley also swept his opponent 6-0 6-0.
Marcel Mizerski would be the next to finish, and the final to post a flawless score against his opponent.
Benjamin Brasfield dropped his opening game before winning the next twelve to win his match at #3 singles.
Gray Broermann would drop one game in both of his sets, winning 6-1 6-1.
Shine Tokas played the longest singles match of the dual at just over an hour, coming away with the victory 6-3 6-1.

Game 2: Shenandoah 7, Southern Virginia 0
The Hornets' lone blemish of the day came in doubles of dual #2, as the tandem of Beasley and Brasfield fell in a tiebreaker, 6-7 (4-7). Cowell and Mizerski would claim the first doubles match at #3, 6-0. Tokas and Broermann clinched the doubles point at #2, 7-6 (11-9).
Max Arkans got the singles scoring started at #6, winning 6-0 6-1 in a 46-minute match.
Gray Broermann would finish second at #4 singles, winning 6-2 6-2.
Tommy Cowell would clinch the match at #5, winning 6-1 6-4.
After a back and forth matchup at #1,
Shine Tokas would sweep his opponent in the second set, winning 6-4 6-0.
Lucas Beasley got the win at #2, 6-2 6-2.
Benjamin Brasfield would close out the day with a thriller at #3, winning 6-3 7-5.
