Cross Country Set to Host ODAC Championships this Weekend

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's and women's cross country programs are hosting the 2026 ODAC Championships this Saturday at Kernstown Battlefield.

The Hornets are hosting for the third time ever, having previously held the championships in Winchester in 2022 and 2018. The women's 6k will be the first race of the day, starting at 10 a.m., with the men's 8k to follow.

The SU women are set to have 11 Hornets in the 6k, including Maddy Chroeny, who earned First Team All-ODAC after placing fourth at last year's conference meet with a time of 22:45.6. Earlier this season, at the Hornets' home meet, the women ran an average time of 25:47 on the Kernstown 6k course.

The men have 14 runners listed on tomorrow's entry list for the 8k. Brayden Shotwell led the SU men's side at last year's championship with a 24th-place showing at 27:01.2 down at Bridgewater. The Hornets averaged a team time of 27:47 at the 8k race of the Hornet Harrier in September.

Tomorrow's races will be streamed live on flocollege.com with commentary and a multi-camera setup at Kernstown. Live results will be pushed by Blue Ridge Timing.

Admission to the championships is $11 per car and can be purchased here.
