WINCHESTER, VA - The Shenandoah University Field Hockey team evened their ODAC record with an 11-0 win over Eastern Mennonite at home Wednesday night. The Hornets (8-2, 1-1 ODAC) scored their first five goals in the opening seven minutes of the contest. EMU's GK Renata Videki made 11 saves on the day for the Royals (0-8, 0-1 ODAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets scored quickly in the second minute of play off of an unassisted goal by
Kierney Weigle. Just 79 seconds later,
Camryn DeLeva buries a goal off of a corner that would be double assisted by
Ava Fields and
Rylin McCloskey.
Kaitlyn Nakamura would find the cage 46 seconds after that off of an assist by
Ellie Quinn. 88 more seconds passed before
Emily Swartzbaugh scored on a
Lily Kyvelos assist. The fifth and final goal of the opening frame came on a scoop and score from the baseline by McCloskey.
Three more goals found the cage on scores by
Ella Robbins,
Kaitlyn Mogar, and
Ellie Quinn, with assists from Mogar, Fields, and
Reagan Flory.
The final three goals were all scored in the third quarter by Quinn,
Kayleigh Vodvarka, and
Taylor Alperin, with assists by Flory, Mogar, and
Caitin Wolff.
