Women's Basketball's ODAC Tournament Run Ends in Semifinals

SALEM, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's basketball team was eliminated from the 2026 ODAC Tournament by top-seeded Washington and Lee University on Saturday in the semifinals, 66-52.

The Generals (27-0) went on a 14-0 run in the second quarter that helped them pull away from the Hornets (20-7) before halftime. Addisyn Banks led Shenandoah with 16 points and nine rebounds.

RECAP

Banks started the game off with a three-pointer, giving Shenandoah its only lead of the semifinal game. The Generals responded with a 13-2 run that put them in front by eight. Washington and Lee led 16-12 at the end of the first after Taylor Moran hit a late jumper for SU.

Moran then started the second with a jumper that cut the deficit to two for SU. Points from Emily Williams helped the Hornets keep it a one-possession game until the Generals went on the previously mentioned 14-0 run. Skai Bayless and Banks were able to score late in the half for SU, but W&L led 37-22 at halftime.

Washington and Lee grabbed a game-high 19-point lead early in the third quarter. With help from Mya Martin and Brynna Nesselrodt, the Hornets cut their deficit to 10, 43-33, with five minutes left in the third. The Generals immediately answered with a 7-0 run, but SU ended the frame with a 6-0 run of its own.

The fourth quarter saw the Generals outscore the Hornets by a slim margin, which was enough to keep their lead in double-digits for the remainder of the contest.
