Drew Crawford has been announced as an assistant coach for the baseball team. Crawford returns to Shenandoah after graduating in 2008, and being a utility player in the infield from 2004 – 2008 under head coach Kevin Anderson.
In 2008, Crawford was named a team captain, as well as the recipient of two team awards, the Daniel J. Ziccardy Student Athlete Winner and the Irene Schutt Most Inspirational Award.
Crawford has nine years of coaching experience with six years coming as a head coach at North Hagerstown High School. Crawford boasts a 78-51 career record, two region titles, and was named the 2013 Herald-Mail Coach of the Year.
Crawford currently resides in Smithsburg, Maryland with his wife Jessica and children Caius, Canaan, Callum, and Camryn. Crawford just completed his 14th year as a teacher in the Washington County Public School District.
Effectively immediately, Crawford will start recruiting and then work with the infielders once the team gets back on campus.
