Drake Woodard

Drake Woodward was an assistant coach with the football program from 2013-18. This biography now exists as a historical reference.

Former Hobart College All-America Drake Woodard is preparing for his fifth season on the SU football staff.

The Hornets defensive backs coach, Woodard was promoted in August 2017 to passing game coordinator under defensive coordinator Brock McCullough.

Woodard, a 2012 Hobart grad that earned his Master's in Administration Leadership from Shenandoah in 2017, earned D3football.com All-America honors at defensive back following his 2011 senior season and was a four-time All-Liberty League first team honoree.

He capped his career by being named as the 2012 recipient of the Francis L. 'Babe' Kraus Memorial Award for the outstanding senior athlete at Hobart College.

In the fall of 2012 as he was completing his student teaching requirements, Woodard served the Statesmen as the wide receivers coach.

Woodward is married to SU women's basketball standout Crystal Petrus '14. They are the parents of a son, born in August 2017.
