A two sport athlete, Orndoff was a two-time all-region selection at quarterback in 1965 and 1966. Orndoff was also the recipient of the Golden Helmet Award in 1966. He was the 1967 Shenandoah Baseball MVP, and appeared as a Face in the Crowd in Sports Illustrated.
