FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The SU volleyball team maintained its .500 record Saturday afternoon by splitting a pair of USA South Conference volleyball matches at Methodist College.
Shenandoah (14-14 overall, 5-6 USA South) opened play Saturday with a 3-2 loss to Methodist (30-22, 30-28, 28-30, 32-34, 12-15) before coming back to sweep Peace 3-0 (30-26, 30-25, 30-21).
Freshman Christina Greene (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) led SU in the opening match with a team high 16 kills and 27 digs. Senior Hannah Williams (Salem, Va./Glenvar) added 15 kills and 24 digs while Michelle Chandler (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles West) and Jennifer Thompson (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest) combined for 41 assists and 42 digs. Chandler, who had 15 of the assists, also had a six total blocks.
After dropping the heartbreaker, Coach Sarah Pelster's squad wasted little time in dispatching the Peace Pacers. Chandler had a match high 10 kills to go along with 12 digs, Thompson added 16 assists and 11 digs while Greene and Williams both had eight kills.

Saturday's matches were the final away matches of the regular season for SU. The Hornets six match homestand begins on Tuesday night against Christopher Newport. The match starts at 6:30.Â
