ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Shenandoah University ran into an inspired NC Wesleyan volleyball team Friday night and it resulted in a 3-0 USA South Conference victory for the Lady Bishops.

Playing before a Senior Night crowd, NCWC (11-17, 2-10) downed the Hornets 30-23, 30-12, 30-22 and drew even with SU in league standings in the process.

Shenandoah (13-12, 2-10) faces last place Peace and fifth place Methodist tomorrow while the Lady Bishops host fourth place Ferrum in addition to a match against Peace. To earn the sixth seed at next week's USA South Conference Tournament, SU needs a win over Methodist tomorrow and for Wesleyan to not defeat Ferrum. If either of those situations does not happen, NCWC will earn the No. 6 seed regardless of outcome of the other matches.

In Friday's match, the Lady Bishops earned a split of the season series between the two schools behind a 20 kill performance from Brittany Insley and 11 kills from Sydney Bens.

Junior Michelle Chandler had 12 kills and 17 assists for the Hornets with classmate Jennifer Thompson adding 14 digs. Sophomore Catherine Beuerle had 13 assists in her first action of the season.
