Messiah Rallies Past Baseball

GRANTHAM, Pa. - Messiah College used a pair of three-run innings to rally for an 8-6 non-league baseball victory over visiting Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.

Shenandoah (24-15) scored three runs in the first, but the Falcons (15-17) answered with three of their own in the second, another in the third and three more in the fifth.

Those final three runs gave MC a 7-5 lead and was a lead they would not relinquish.

SU was held to just four hits in the game, including two by senior Ryan Anderson. Anderson finished the day 2-for-4 and drove in the Hornets first run of the game with a single in the top of the first.

Freshman Scott Van Dusseldorp drove in two runs - he drew a bases-loaded walk in the first and plated David Jenkins with a sixth-inning single.

Starter David Frelin (1-5) took the loss after allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits in 4.1 innings.
