BUENA VISTA, Va. - Homestanding Southern Virginia scored four goals on its way to a 4-2 non-conference victory over Shenandoah Tuesday afternoon.

The win also snaps a six-game losing streak for the Knights (2-6). Shenandoah (2-7) had been looking to earn a second straight victory.

SVU led 3-0 by the 26th minute as three different players found the back of the net.

Junior Jared Shaffer answered for the visitors in the 33rd minute off an assist from sophomore Scott Monahan, but this would be as close as the Hornets would get.

After Southern Virginia scored its final goal 12 minutes into the second half, David Winskill completed the score sheet with an unassisted goal with just under eight minutes to play.
