Volleyball Drops Another Pair

RALEIGH, N.C. - Shenandoah University remains winless in USA South Conference volleyball play after host Meredith and Greensboro colleges defeated SU 3-2 and 3-0, respectively, Saturday afternoon at Saturday morning at Weatherspoon Gym.

Meredith (3-11, 1-4 USA South) earned its first-ever USA South Conference victory with the 30-21, 24-30, 26-30, 30-25, 15-10 comeback win over SU (6-8, 0-6).

Perennial power Greensboro then swept coach Sarah Pelster's club 30-23, 30-14, 30-25.

The Avenging Angels hit a sterling .471 (18 k, 2 err, 34 att) in the game one victory before posting .232 and .190 hitting percentages in games four and five.

Sophomore Jessi Johnson paced Shenandoah with a career-high 16 kills while Jennifer Thompson and Chevon Parker eight each.

Jennie Haywood was led the defense with a co-game-high 17 digs.

Against Greensboro, Michelle Chandler had a team-high five kills with Thompson, Parker and Johnson all chipping in four.
