GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team
dropped a heartbreaker Saturday in a 2-1 USA South Conference
loss at Greensboro.
Shenandoah (2-7-2, 0-2 USA South) were just 89 seconds away from
victory when Greensboro (2-6-2, 1-0) got the tying goal.
Just over three minutes into overtime, Dennis Geoffrey allowed
the Pride to escape with the victory by converting a penalty kick.
Senior Adam
Aldinger, the leading scorer in the USA South, had give SU the
initial advantage after finishing off a Jarod Clyburn feed in
the 77th minute. Both men had made a run right down the
middle of the pitch leading to Aldinger's 10th tally of
the year.
Senior Arman
Bozorgmanesh had seven saves in the losing effort.
GC outshot Shenandoah 21-12 and the two teams split 10 corner
kicks.
The Hornets continue USA South play with a Wednesday night game
at Christopher Newport.
