RALEIGH, N.C. - Host Peace College and NC Wesleyan both sent the
Shenandoah University volleyball team down to defeat Saturday with
a pair of 3-0 victories.
The Pacers (10-13, 5-6 USA South) completed the season sweep
over SU (12-14, 2-12) with the 25-22, 25-20, 25-13 victory in the
opener before NCWC (15-9, 10-2) was a 13, 17, 14 winner in the
nightcap.
Sophomore Rachel Maki led
the Hornets with eight kills in the PC match with senior
Jessi
Johnson adding seven.
Defensively, Amber
DeHaven had 13 digs while Megan
Gillispie and Kelcy
Brown added 11 each. Brown also had 21 assists.
Against the Lady Bishops, Johnson had 10 of the team's 21 kills
and Brown recorded her second double-double of the afternoon with
17 assists and 10 digs.
Volleyball returns to the court on Thursday with a non-league
match at Eastern Mennonite.
