WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University completed its
non-conference men's soccer schedule with a 1-0 victory over St.
Mary's of Maryland.
After the two teams played a scoreless first half, SU (4-9-2)
got what proved to be the game-winner four minutes into the second
half.
Junior Kyle
Farrell netted that game-winner, taking a cross from senior Karim Kamara just
outside the 18-yard box and ripping his shot across the goal and
into the right panel of the net.
SMC (4-13) had numerous excellent chances to score, but was
stuffed by Hornets keeper Arman
Bozorgmanesh on two occasions and missed the goal wide on two
other breakaway opportunities.
Bozorgmanesh finished five saves, including those two breakaways
stops in the first 45 minutes.
The Seahawks outshot Shenandoah 11-7 and had four of the game's
six corners.
The Hornets complete their regular season on Saturday with an 11
a.m. home game against Methodist University.
