WINCHESTER, Va. - Peace and N.C. Wesleyan colleges proved
to be rude guests Saturday as the Pacers and Lady Bishops took a
pair of USA South Conference volleyball matches from host
Shenandoah.
Peace (9-11, 4-5 USA South) was 25-14, 26-24, 25-20 winner
over SU (7-9, 1-9) in the opening match while N.C. Wesleyan won
25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 25-21 in the nightcap.
In the PC match, sophomore Rachel Maki had
a team-high seven kills with freshman Mary
Harshman and junior Amber
DeHaven pacing the defense with 14 and 11 digs,
respectively.
Leah Chandler had 13 kills for PC in the victory.
Against the Lady Bishops, Maki had 12 kills and Megan
Gillispie nine, but it was not enough to stop NCWC (12-7,
8-0).
DeHaven once again topped the defense with 15 digs - she was one
of four women in double figures in that category.
SU steps out of conference to host Christendom College Monday
evening in a doubleheader.
