WESTMINSTER, Md. - Shenandoah University earned its third
straight women's soccer road non-conference win Wednesday afternoon
with a 2-1 victory at McDaniel.
Freshman Jess
Natkin scored both the Hornets (6-6-1) goals in the victory
over the Green Terror (2-8-1).
In the 20th minute, Natkin took a centering pass from classmate
Kirsten Olson
right in front the goal and converted for the early lead.
McDaniel tied it 10 minutes later on a Kelly Scheler goal off of
a double assist.
The two teams headed into the halftime break tied at one as SU
keeper Kat Terza
off-set a 6-4 MC in shots by making three saves.
It didn't take long following the break for Natkin to hit the
game-winner. Just 11 minutes into the second half, Natkin came down
the right side and ripped a shot from 20 yards out past Green
Terror keeper Leanne Hollinger.
The goal was one of five shots that the Hornets had on goal in
the final 45 minutes in addition to an Olson shot that hit the
post.
Terza finished the game with five saves.
Shenandoah is off until hosting Wesley College next Wednesday
evening.
