WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team
now has a two-game unbeaten streak after battling Washington &
Lee to a 1-1 non-league tie Saturday afternoon on Sprint Field at
Shentel Stadium.
After the Generals (2-1-1) opened the scoring in the 10th minute
with an own goal against SU (1-4-2), Shenandoah tied it 63 seconds
into the second half.
Freshman Joan-Josep Vallejo
Augsti played the ball into the box, where senior Adam
Aldinger was able to get a touch on it and direct it past
Generals keeper Ben Bartlett.
Aldinger's tally, his sixth of the year, proved to be the final
goal of the contest. The two teams combined for 16 more shots,
including five in the 20 minutes of overtime, without being able to
find the back of the net.
Bartlett had six saves for W&L and senior Arman
Bozorgmanesh made eight stops for the Hornets.
Each team had 13 shots and SU held a 5-4 advantage in corners.
Shenandoah travels to Marymount on Wednesday for a 7:15
