ASHLAND, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team
defeated its second straight ODAC opponent Wednesday afternoon with
a 3-2 non-league victory over Randolph-Macon.
Shenandoah (3-4-1) vaulted out to a 3-1 lead by halftime and
coasted to the win over Macon (5-2).
Freshman Stormie
Malik scored the opening goal off of a deflection in the
fifth minute and after the Yellow Jackets tied it four minutes
later by converting a corner kick, freshman Kirsten
Olson tallied an unassisted goal in the 17th minute to
give the Hornets a lead they would not relinquish.
Five minutes after Olson's goal, sophomore Jessi
Dennis netted what proved to be the game-winner on an
unassisted tally.
Macon cut the deficit in half with an unassisted goal in the
79th minute, but could get no closer.
Dennis' classmate, Kat Terza, made six saves
to earn her second straight victory.
