FERRUM, Va. - Shenandoah University won its fifth straight
volleyball match Wednesday evening with a 3-0 USA South win at
Ferrum College.
Shenandoah (13-9, 3-8 USA South) also matches last season's
conference win total with the 25-23, 25-20, 25-14) win over the
Panthers (0-23, 0-12).
The victory also completes a season sweep for SU over Ferrum.
This is the first time in 10 years that the Hornets have swept
FC.
Junior Rachel Maki paced the victors with a match-high 12 kills
while freshman Brooke Strathy had 16 assists and sophomore Kelcy
Brown nine.
Brittany Harryman was particularly strong from the service line,
posting seven aces, and Emily Jones had six of the team's 15 digs
on the evening.
SU is back in action this Saturday with a USA South tri-match at
Peace. The Hornets take on N.C. Wesleyan in addition to the host
Pacers.
