RALEIGH, N.C. - Shenandoah University split a pair of USA South
Conference volleyball matches at a tri-match hosted by Peace
College.
Shenandoah (14-10), 4-9 USA South) opened the day with a 3-0
victory over the host Pacers before falling by the same score to
N.C. Wesleyan.
The 25-21, 25-18, 25-15 victory over Peace (10-12, 5-6) pushes
the Hornets past last season's conference win total.
The win also ran the squad's winning streak to six matches.
Junior Rachel Maki paced
Shenandoah offensively with a match-high 12 kills while Mary Harshman and
Megan
Gillispie both added seven.
SU had 79 digs in the match with junior Emily Jones leading
a group of three women in double-figures with 26. Mary Harshman had
16 and Gillispie 15 to round out this effort.
Against NCWC (17-8, 9-2), freshman Brooke
Strathy had assists on 11 of the Hornets 19 kills.
Harshman and Jones both had 16 digs with Brittany
Harryman adding 10.
Maki's six kills led the offensive effort.
Shenandoah travels to Mary Baldwin for a Wednesday evening USA
South Conference match.
