FERRUM, Va. - Host Ferrum College scored a late goal Saturday
afternoon to down Shenandoah University 1-0 in USA South Conference
women's soccer action.
LaQuinta Garrett scored that lone goal for the Panthers (9-4-1,
3-3-1 USA South), converting a feed from Natalie Olson with exactly
four minutes to play.
Garrett's goal snaps a four-match winning streak for Shenandoah
(7-5-3, 2-2-1).
SU had one opportunity following Garrett's goal, getting a shot
from sophomore Amber Womack, but FC keeper Katie Hodkinson made the
save to preserve the shutout.
The Hornets outshot their hosts, 11-6, and had all five of the
corners awarded.
Garrett's tally was the only shot on goal for Ferrum in the
contest.
Shenandoah completes this weekend trip with a 1 p.m. contest
Sunday at Averett.
