TAKOMA PARK, Md. - The Shenandoah University women's volleyball team completed its non-conference slate with a 3-0 victory over Washington Adventist Wednesday evening.
Shenandoah (16-12) ensured itself of a winning season with the 25-12, 25-6, 25-7 victory over the first-year Shock (1-11).
The 45-minute victory also completes a season sweep for the Hornets over Washington Adventist and gives SU an 11-1 non-conference record this season.
Junior Rachel Maki paced the victors with six kills with sophomore Mary Harshman adding five and freshman Haley Smith four.
All 11 women on the roster saw action in the match with 10 of the 11 playing in at least two sets.
Katy Griffith and Megan Gillispie combined for 11 of the team's 20 digs on the evening.
Shenandoah hit a season-high .411 in the match and was charged with just one reception error.
SU completes its regular season this Saturday with a home tri-match against Meredith and Greensboro colleges. The Hornets take on Meredith at noon and GC at 4.
Additionally, Saturday's tri-match is part of the team's "Dig Pink" promotion for Breast Cancer Awareness. There will be an intermission following the second set of both SU matches in which prizes and apparel will be raffled off and all proceeds collected will be donated to the Dig Pink Foundation.
