WINCHESTER, Va. - No. 4 in the nation Lebanon Valley had a quick
start Saturday afternoon in its 7-0 MAC Commonwealth field hockey
victory over host Shenandoah.
Lebanon Valley (10-0, 2-0 CC) scored just 83 seconds into the
game and added five more goals in the next 22 minutes to take total
control over the Hornets (6-4, 0-3).
LVC junior Jocelyn Novak had four of the five first half goals,
including the opener. In the process, she became the all-time
leading scorer in school history. Novak now has 93 career goals and
broke a record that was set in 1971.
The Dutchmen outshot SU 26-2 for the game and had a 10-2
advantage in penalty corners.
Shenandoah goalie Sarah Clare had 11 saves.
SU is on the roa Sunday for a battle against future ODAC
opponent Lynchburg College.
