SCRANTON, Pa. – Shenandoah University dropped its fifth
straight men's lacrosse game Saturday afternoon with a 15-3
CSAC loss at league co-leader Marywood.
The Pacers (9-3, 4-0 CSAC) scored the game's first 14
goals and never looked back against SU (2-10, 0-4).
MU scored its opening goal 39 seconds into the contest and then
proceeded to hold Shenandoah off the scoreboard until Matt Hendrickson tallied off of a Jimmy Bungert feed with just over two
minutes remaining in the third.
The goal was the only one of the third period.
Junior PJ Cooper scored the Hornets final two goals, at 14:49
and 10:25 of the fourth, but the outcome was already decided.
Marywood outshot SU 43-23 and scooped up 48 of the game's
86 groundballs. Shenandoah, thanks to a 9 of 16 showing from Sean Mack, won 10 of 21 faceoffs.
Austin Clark had five saves before turning it over to Andrew Fleischmann in the middle of the second. Fleischmann had six
stops.
The Hornets are back in action one week from today against
Gwynedd-Mercy.
