FREDERICK, Md. - Shenandoah University opened the Jaime
Terenzi era with a pair of non-conference volleyball victories
Saturday afternoon.
Shenandoah (2-0) won both matches via sweep; the Hornets opened
the day with a 25-7, 25-14, 25-6 drubbing of Valley Forge Christian
before taking out host Hood, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18.
The wins were the first for Terenzi as the Hornets head coach.
She took over this summer.
Junior Rachel Maki paced
SU in the opening match with a game-high 10 kills with sophomore Kelcy Brown
chipping in six service aces.
The Hornets hit .373 for the contest and won 14 of their 75
points via service ace.
Maki again was the story in the nightcap, posting 16 kills while
Megan
Gillispie added 11.
Both women recorded double-doubles in the match with 11 and 13
digs, respectively.
Brown joined them with 37 assists and 10 digs.
Shenandoah is back in action on Wednesday evening with a 7:00
home match against Eastern Mennonite.
