WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University kept its perfect
volleyball record intact Wednesday evening with a 3-0 non-league
sweep over Eastern Mennonite.
SU (3-0) wasted little time with the Royals (1-4), winning at
18, 20 and 19 to give coach Jaime
Terenzi three wins in three matches as the Hornets head
coach.
Junior Rachel Maki helped the hosts to a 2-0 lead by
contributing six kills in the opening set victory and three more in
the second.
Sophomore Mary Harshman then took over, posting six of her
co-match-high 12 kills in the final set to clinch the match.
Shenandoah hit .218 for the match with Harshman committing just
two errors in a team-high 31 attempts.
She also had double-double, chipping in a team-high 12 digs.
Sophomore Kelcy Brown had 29 assists.
Tabitha Bowman paced the Royals with 12 kills.
SU is back in action on Saturday with a tri-match at Catholic
against the host Cardinals and Washington (Md.).
