SALEM, Va. - Roanoke College kept the Shenandoah University field hockey team winless in ODAC play with a 2-1 win Saturday afternoon.
Roanoke (3-6, 2-1 ODAC) scored in the 24th and 46th minutes to send Shenandoah (3-8, 0-3) down to its fifth straight loss.
The loss is the third straight one-goal ODAC defeat that the Hornets have suffered.
Junior Sarah DeLuca scored unassisted in the sixth minute to open the game for SU, but the Maroons had an answer.
Liannna Hachborn tallied off of a penalty corner to tie it before setting up Stacy Bechtel 10 minutes into the second half for the game-winner.
Shenandoah outshot its hosts 15-13 and also had a 12-10 advantage in penalty corners.
SU keeper Sarah Clare made nine saves.
The Hornets travel to Harrisonburg to take on Eastern Mennonite on Tuesday in another ODAC contest.
