RALEIGH, N.C. - Shenandoah University maintained its spot in the middle of the USA South Conference volleyball standings by splitting a tri-match at Peace College Saturday afternoon.
Shenandoah (13-12, 7-6 USA South) solidified its hold on sixth place in the league with a 3-1 victory over the host Pacers before being swept 3-0 by N.C. Wesleyan.
SU downed PC (9-16, 3-9) 25-17, 25-23, 21-25, 25-21 and lost to NCWC at 22, 21 and 14.
The Bishops improve to 14-8 overall and 8-4 in the USA South with the two wins.
Junior Mary Harshman led Shenandoah to the victory with 12 kills and 15 digs while senior Megan Gillispie also had a double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs.
Rachel Maki and Haley Smith both had 10 kills to help out the offense with Emily Jones pacing the defense by posting 18 digs.
Kelcy Brown and Brooke Strathy had 16 and 15 assists, respectively.
In the Wesleyan match, Harshman was again the offensive story with 10 kills.
Jones had nine digs.
SU hosts Mary Baldwin on Tuesday at 6 in another USA South Conference match.
