BUENA VISTA, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team earned its seventh win of the 2011 season with a 3-1 non-league victory over Southern Virginia Wednesday afternoon.
After Southern Virginia (3-8) opened the game's scoring with a goal in the first half, Shenandoah (7-5) rallied following the break.
Junior Amber Womack tied it up for the Hornets in the 50th minute before senior Jessi Dennis netted the game-winner at 65:49.
Hannah Oakes tallied an insurance goal with just under 20 minutes to play to provide the final margin of victory.
Senior Kat Terza had four saves in the first half before turning it over to Alyssa Plourde midway through the second half.
SU outshot the Knights 28-8 and had all five of the corners awarded.
Shenandoah continues this road trip with weekend games in Raleigh against Meredith on Saturday and Peace on Sunday. Game time is 2 p.m. for both days.
