BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Shenandoah University earned its fifth consecutive women's lacrosse victory of the season with a 10-5 win at future ODAC rival Bridgewater College Thursday afternoon.
Shenandoah (5-2) scored the first four goals of the game and led 9-4 at the break thanks to a half-closing goal by senior Sara Mucciaro.
Bridgewater (3-3) was able to cut the deficit to three on two different occasions, but would get no closer.
Sophomore Corrinne Kosmowski had the Hornets opening tally of the contest off of a Sydney Anderson feed while senior Jennie Ott netted the eventual game-winner.
Kosmowski, Liz Grover and Samantha Sisson all had two goals with Mucciaro chipping a goal and two assists.
Kosmowski matched Mucciaro's production as she also had an assist for three total points.
Shenandoah outshot its hosts 23-13, grabbed 21 of 34 groundballs and won 10 of 17 draw controls.
Ashley Cross had eight saves in the winning effort.
SU hosts Wesley College Saturday at 1 in another non-conference contest.
