Women's Soccer Falls in OT

LEXINGTON, Va. - Earlham College and Shenandoah University traded goals Saturday with the Quakers coming out on top in a 3-2 overtime women's soccer victory as part of the Washington & Lee Invitational.

Earlham (2-1) never trailed in the contest, as it opened the game's scoring in the 11th minute on an unassisted goal from Joy Doucette.

Junior Amber Womack answered for SU (1-2) 10 minutes before halftime only to see EC take the lead once again at 55:03.

Senior Jessi Dennis brought the game back to level in the 72nd minute with another unassisted tally.

The two teams played the remaining 18 minutes of regulation scoreless, setting up the 20-minute sudden victory extra session.

Ikumi Doucette got that game-winner for the Quakers, scoring unassisted at 96:43.

Shenandoah outshot its opponent 22-16 and took all five of the corner kicks awarded.

Senior Kat Terza had three saves in the first 59:48 of action before turning it over to Alyssa Plourde in the 60th minute.

SU faces host W&L on Sunday at 2:30.
