Women Top Generals

LEXINGTON, Va. - Shenandoah University salvaged a split of the Washington & Lee women's soccer Invitational with a 1-0 victory over the host Generals Sunday afternoon.

Junior Stormie Malik scored the lone goal of the game, tallying unassisted in the 63rd minute to help the Hornets (2-2) to the win over W&L (2-1).

Malik's goal was one of nine shots the Hornets had on the day. After being outshot 8-2 by the Generals in the opening 45 minutes, SU took seven of the 14 second half shots.

Senior Kat Terza made four saves in posting her first shutout of the season.

Washington & Lee held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The women are back in action on Tuesday at Bridgewater.
